Florida Atlantic University: Associate Professor in Human Neuroscience

Oct 9, 2019 | Education Sessions, Faculty Positions, Flux Blog

The Department of Psychology and Brain Institute at Florida Atlantic University invite applications from outstanding candidates at the Associate Professor level for a tenured position in human neuroscience to begin Fall 2019. Exceptional candidates currently at the rank of Assistant Professor who have well-established and funded research programs may also be considered. Florida Atlantic University is a rapidly growing institution that is investing significant resources to expand neuroscience research and education. As part of FAU’s university-wide initiative in neuroscience, the Psychology Department (www.psy.fau.edu) has teamed with the Brain Institute (http://www.ibrain.fau.edu ) to expand the presence of research programs focused on the human brain. We are especially interested in candidates who use cutting-edge technologies (e.g., fNIRS, EEG/ERP, MEG, TMS), including computational approaches, to investigate neural mechanisms underlying social and/or cognitive function and development. Candidates whose research programs have strong translational implications will be given primary consideration. The ideal candidate will bridge existing strengths in our core program areas and pursue collaborations with faculty within and outside of the department. Leadership opportunities within the Department and Institute regarding the development of training programs and shared resources related to human brain research will be considered.

Florida Atlantic University, with its main campus in Boca Raton, FL, supports the training of more than 25,000 students, and is one of the most ethnically diverse institutions in the Florida state university system, with status as a Hispanic-serving institution. Our community features excellent schools, a vibrant and safe community, and a sub-tropical climate conducive to year-round outdoor activities. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and are asked to submit electronic copies of a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, statement of research interests and goals (maximum of two pages), a brief statement of teaching philosophy and history, and the names and contact information of at least three references. https://fau.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/FAU/job/Boca Raton/Associate-Professor_REQ04819.

FAU is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from candidates from underrepresented groups.
