POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP in the Neural bases Reading, Math and Executive Function

The Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado Boulder has a two-year position, starting immediately for a post-doctoral fellow on a project that is part of an NICHD-funded center examining the neurobiological and genetic bases of reading and math disability. The post-doctoral fellow on this project will be mainly responsible for overseeing the analysis of both resting-state and task-based functional neuroimaging data drawn from a cohort of children/young adolescents whom have undergone a large battery of neuropsychological tests as well as reading and math-related assessments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for additional training in Neuroimaging as well as Learning Disabilities and will be supervised by Prof. Marie Banich in conjunction with Prof. Erik Willcutt, who is the center P.I.

The project is housed within the Intermountain Neuroimaging Consortium, the university’s neuroimaging center It consists of a Siemens Prisma scanner with multi-band capability, special shielding for high-quality data acquisition, dedicated operations and technical staff, and a myriad of interface devices for providing stimuli and recording responses.  Importantly, it also involves a high-performance computational cluster and data archiving facility to support data collection, storage and analysis.

Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or allied field, as well as experience in functional neuroimaging, with a record of publication. Preferred skills are experience in either (or both) resting-state or task-based neuroimaging samples, a high degree of fluency in computer programming (Unix, Linux, MATLAB, Python, etc.), and good communication skills, both oral and written.
